Robert E. Applegate

Mr. Applegate received his undergraduate degree in Finance with an emphasis in Business Legal Studies from the University of Oklahoma in 1994, and received his Juris Doctorate degree from Oklahoma City University School of Law in 1997. He is admitted to practice in all Oklahoma state courts; United States District Courts for the Northern, Eastern and Western Districts of Oklahoma, the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Applegate is a member of the Oklahoma County, Oklahoma and American Bar Associations. He previously practiced primarily in the area of governmental liability and, more specifically, civil rights and employment litigation, emphasizing in federal practice and procedure. In this respect, Mr. Applegate also assisted in the drafting and implementing of policies and procedures for numerous law enforcement agencies in Oklahoma and authored an article concerning the constitutionality of strip searches in a law enforcement publication for county sheriff's offices in Oklahoma.

Mr. Applegate has extensive experience in appellate practice and procedure, including the Oklahoma Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Judicial Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Applegate has a broad civil practice with further experience in workers' compensation and insurance defense.
